Home Buyers in UK Are Decisive When it Comes to Purchasing

Home buyers in the UK are quick to make up their minds when it comes to buying a home. Results from a survey conducted show that 61pc of people get the first property they fall for.

My Home Move say the results show that the UK home buyers are ‘decisive’ with 26pc of home buyers making a decision before they view the full property.

Home buyers are savvy….

Doug Crawford the CEO of My Home Move the company who conducted the survey said;

“As a nation, we are very decisive when it comes to our homes. Owning a property is an ambition for most Brits and people are increasingly aware of what they want in their new home.”

“They are savvy buyers, thanks in part to the multitude of property programmes on television and the ability to research available homes via the internet.”

“By the time it comes to arranging a viewing, the typical buyer now knows all about the location they are interested in and what the property is like from its online profile.”

“This means home buyers can make their mind up extremely quickly; and in some cases, even before setting foot inside the property.”

“People typically think of house hunting as a long, drawn-out nightmare. However, our latest research shows a significant number of home owners were quick to buy the house they fell in love with.”

In some parts of the UK given the competitive nature of the housing market home buyers are more lucky to miss out, Mr. Crawford said;

“These home hunters have to see more properties, make more offers and compromise more often, especially on budget. They are far more likely to have some heartbreak along the way, as they become victims of increasing house prices and gazumping.”

Research also showed that 39pc of home buyers missed out on the property they wanted with the most common reason being they were outbid. Those under 30 suffered most with 41pc of buyers in this age group being outbid.
