Improved Transport Links Could See Your Home Increase In ValueImproved transport links that connect Beverley directly with Leeds could see the town become the base for more people who commute to work.

This week, the new rail franchises in the region were announced and Beverley is going to benefit. The train station in the town will have its car park extended and will also gain a new rail service.

Linking Beverley, Bridlington and Hull to Leeds the new route means as a location Beverley now has even more of an appeal to those who commute to cities like Leeds.

Plans to expand the town, increase the number of homes in Beverley, means that people working in West Yorkshire can look at East Yorkshire when buying a home with more confidence, thanks to the new rail links.

Improved Transport links bring Northern Powerhouse closer

The local MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart welcomed the news saying, that the East Riding was about to embark on a new era of rail travel.

Mr. Stuart said;

“The vision of the Northern Powerhouse came a step closer to reality today as we learned how our vital transport connections will develop over the next decade.”

“I know rail passengers across the East Riding will be delighted to hear our area will be better linked to cities across the North and this can only help local businesses continue the strong growth we have enjoyed in recent years.”

Beverley is already well linked to Hull by road, rail and bus. When it comes to York however there is no rail link, and to get to Leeds passengers currently have to change in Hull.

Whilst new rolling stock and additional services are hardly comparable to HS2 or the Crossrail project being undertaken in the south, it is clear whenever there is better rail infrastructure the cost of property in those areas increases.

In Reading which is on the route of Crossrail property experts in that part of the country say that they have seen an increase of 12pc in the value of homes in the area.

They also say the project has attracted property investors from all over the country and from around the world, as they look to cash in on the benefits the new rail network will bring.
