YORSwitch Get Market-Leading Rates For Home Energy
Householders who signed up for the latest round of YORSwitch have been given access to market-leading tariffs which can save them an average of £322 a year on their energy bills.
YORSwitch is part of iChoosr, a national collective switching scheme which invites energy providers to take part in auctions in which they put forward tariffs, with the lowest submissions being offered to people who register for the scheme.
In the East Riding, more than 8,300 households registered for the latest auction and they will now be able to take advantage of exclusive, fixed-rate tariffs from npower and E.ON Energy. Pre-payment customers are also able to access a market-leading tariff from Robin Hood Energy.
Since the scheme began in 2013, there have been more than 10,000 switchers in the East Riding and savings for residents total £2.4million.

Councillor Symon Fraser, portfolio holder for asset management, housing and environment at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:
“It is so simple to register to see if you can make savings. It’s really worth giving it a go, as you may find you can save hundreds of pounds a year on your fuel bills.
“If you do register for the scheme, there is no obligation to accept your personal offer but, if you do, it is easy and straightforward and the new provider will take care of the whole process for you.”

All tariffs available to scheme members are market-leading against Ofgem averages on the day of the auction.
